At approximately 6:30 pm, officers responded to the 9200 block of 42nd Ave S for a report of a male shot in the chest. Officers arrived and provided medical aid until relieved by SFD. The adult male victim was then transported to HMC in stable condition. Officers processed the scene and canvassed for video evidence. Police were able to determine that a suspect in a vehicle shot the victim. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still being investigated by detectives. The suspect fled the scene and was not located. Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit will be responsible for the follow up investigation.

On 9-23-2026 officers responded to the area of 1 Av S and S Forest St for a call regarding a suspected federal law enforcement operation. When officers arrived the unidentified law enforcement personnel were no longer on scene. Officers spoke with witnesses who stated that unmarked vehicles equipped with emergency lights had stopped a vehicle. Unidentified law enforcement personnel with “ERO” written on their vests removed two people from the stopped vehicle and left the scene with them. Officers collected video provided by witnesses and later documented the incident.
