At about 10:00pm, 911 began receiving calls regarding shots having been fired. Officers were able to narrow the area of occurrence to a parking lot in the 4400 blk of Rainier Avenue South. Witnesses informed officers that 3 subjects in a dark sedan fired rounds into the air from what appeared to be a firearm on full auto. Witnesses stated it appeared the gun remained almost entirely inside of the vehicle, which could explain the lack of shell casings at the scene. Witnesses did see what they described as “bright muzzle flash.” No obvious property damage was found or reported, and no victims were located or reported. The involved subjects in the sedan fled the scene.
