At 1945 hours, officers were dispatched to a report of a person with a gun pointed at them. After investigating, it was determined that the suspect had attempted to rob the victim with a handgun. A scuffle ensued over the firearm, and the victim ultimately was able to disarm the suspect before the suspect fled on foot. After a brief search of the area, officers located the suspect and he was detained without further incident. The suspect’s bag with his personal items, along with a considerable number of narcotics. The firearm was recovered and was found to be an unreported stolen. The suspect was found to be a convicted felon and could not be in possession of the firearm. He was declined at KCJ, and hospital guard was provided until he was booked into KCJ for robbery / VUFA / narcotics.
