A planned demonstration took place in a park in the West precinct. The crowd was protesting business groups who were investing in “unethical investments” that were tied to a foreign country. The group of roughly 100 people marched to a nearby business and protested outside of the building. The building was on lock down and in communication with SPD. The crowd marched back to the park. There were no disruptions to traffic as they stayed on the sidewalk.

Officers responded to a shots call in the 14300 block of Linden Avenue North and quickly detained a suspect based on a detailed description given by the reporting party. Officers canvassed the area but could not locate any property damage or spent casings. A review of security video from a nearby apartment complex showed the suspect pass what appeared to be a firearm to an unknown male who fled the scene moments before police arrived. The suspect was booked into jail for an unrelated warrant.
