Car crash into building causes significant damage

On June 19th, at approximately 11:50 PM, South Precinct officers responded to reports of a vehicle that crashed into a building in the 4800 Block of Beacon Avenue South.  An 18 year old male was driving a 1998 Honda Civic northbound in the 4800 Block of Beacon Avenue South when he lost control of the vehicle. The car went off the road and onto the sidewalk, before crashing into a business.  The collision caused significant damage to the brick facing, glass and doors of the building.  There were no injuries as a result of this collision.

The Seattle Fire Department responded to assist in shoring up the building and assess the damage.  They also secured the broken windows and doors.  The owner of the business was contacted by police and responded to the scene.

The driver was evaluated at the scene by officers.   The 18 year old  was cited for Negligent Driving in the 1st Degree and released from the scene.
