Seattle Police officers arrested a 57-year-old man for stabbing a 37-year-old male at Rainier Valley business.
At 2:39 p.m., a 911 dispatcher received reports of a stabbing at a business in the 3800 block of Rainier Avenue South. Officers arrived and found a man outside the business with a stab wound to the chest. Police provided aid until the Seattle Fire Department arrived, and the male was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
Inside the store, officers found the suspect attempting to enter a storage room where several employees had locked themselves. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Witnesses said the man appeared to be in crisis when he entered the store. A short time later, the victim entered, and a brief, non-confrontational conversation took place before the suspect pulled a knife from his jacket and stabbed the victim in the chest. The victim fled the store to escape the suspect, who remained inside and was later arrested.
The suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
