Seattle police officers arrested two men after they were caught firing a gun from their vehicle’s sunroof in Pioneer Square Sunday morning.
On January 26th at about 2:20 a.m., patrol officers were outside of Xtadium nightclub when they witnessed a drive-by shooting. They followed the vehicle and performed a high-risk stop, detaining four occupants near the 400 block of Seattle Boulevard South.
According to the occupants, there were multiple firearms in the glovebox of the vehicle. While investigating, police determined the driver and passenger were firing the weapons. They were both placed under arrest.
The 37-year-old driver is under Department of Corrections supervision for Murder and is prohibited from carrying a firearm. The 36-year-old male passenger is a convicted felon and is also prohibited from carrying a gun.
Both suspects were arrested for Drive-By Shooting and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. They were booked into the King County Jail.
The remaining two occupants were detained and released at the scene. The vehicle was impounded to the processing room pending a search warrant for evidence.
Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit are assigned to this case.

Seattle police officers arrested two suspects with stolen firearms in West Seattle Saturday morning.
On January 25th just after midnight, patrol officers located a vehicle illegally parked after hours in the 1000 block of Harbor Avenue Southwest. While speaking with the occupants, police saw a loaded handgun in the center console.
Officers removed the driver out of the vehicle and safely recovered the weapon, which was previously reported stolen. The 27-year-old suspect was placed under arrest for Possessing a Stolen Firearm.
The passenger was detained and had a $7,500 warrant for his arrest issued by the Federal Way Police Department for Physical Control.
The passenger attempted to flee from officers but was quickly apprehended. He was also armed with a stolen handgun. He was arrested for Unlawful Carry of a Pistol and Resisting Arrest.
Police recovered both firearms, 3.9 grams of Cocaine and 27.5 grams of Fentanyl. The vehicle was impounded to the Processing Room for further evidence search.
The suspects were both booked into the King County Jail.
Detectives with the General Investigations and Gun Violence Reduction Units were assigned to these cases.
