Seattle police officers arrested armed, convicted murderer on active Department of Corrections (DOC) Supervision sleeping next to bottle of liquor in South Lake Union.
On Nov. 13, at about 8:43 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a man armed with a gun inside a hotel lobby in the 100 block of Boren Avenue. The “suspect was sleeping and possibly intoxicated with a bottle of liquor next to him,” according to the police report.
Police took him into custody without incident.
The 38-year-old man, with previous violent felony convictions, is on active DOC Supervision for 2nd Degree Murder and is prohibited from having guns, a violation of his supervised release.
Police recovered the gun, which did not have a serial number. Officers booked the suspect into the King County Jail for firearms violations.
Detectives in the Gun Violence Reduction Unit are assigned to this case.
