Police Investigating Vehicle Collision Into Pedestrian

Seattle police officers are investigating a vehicle collision into a pedestrian in the Interbay neighborhood last night.

On Dec. 1 at 8:35 p.m., patrol officers responded to car crash involving a pedestrian on 15th Avenue West near West Emerson Street. There, police and the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) found a man, 20-30 years old, down in the roadway. “The pedestrian suffered possibly life-threatening injuries,” according to the police report.

SFD provided medical treatment to the victim and transported him to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Police determined that the 56-year-old driver was going south on 15th Avenue West in a 2023 Chevrolet Bolt, when he unintentionally struck a pedestrian in the middle of the street. He remained on scene, called 911, and cooperated with authorities.

A Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) responded to the scene and evaluated the driver. The DRE found no signs of impairment and officers released him from the scene.
