Detectives are investigating a shooting late Friday night in the Belltown neighborhood that left a 19-year-old woman seriously injured.
At about 11:37 p.m., dispatchers received reports of shooting near 3rd Avenue and Wall Street following a disturbance after the closure of an event in the 2500 block of 3rd Avenue. Officers arrived and found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Officers provided aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center, where she remains in serious condition.
Police determined an unidentified suspect armed with a handgun fired multiple times toward the venue, striking the victim and the building. The suspect fled the scene shortly after shooting. No suspect is currently in custody.
GVRU detectives continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
