Seattle police detectives are investigating a shooting Wednesday night near Pioneer Square neighborhood that left a 21-year-old man seriously injured.
At 10:56 p.m., dispatchers received reports of shooting in the 800 block of Western Avenue. Officers arrived and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the groin area.
Officers provided medical aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and transported him to Harborview Medical Center in serious but stable condition.
Witnesses said there was an altercation shortly before the shooting and two to three suspects fled on foot. No suspects are currently in custody.
Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit are investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
