Seattle police cited a chronic reckless driver in Ballard for multiple serious traffic violations.
Police received the first report Jan. 21, 2026, about a black Audi driving recklessly on Northwest Leary Way. With assistance from community members, officers identified the car. North Precinct Captain George Davisson learned the driver was speeding in the early morning at about 7:30 a.m., and again around 3:00 p.m. in the evening.
Captain Davisson immediately advised Ballard sector patrol officers and a Community Response Group (CRG) officer to be on the lookout for the car. The CRG officer located the Audi, stopped it, and cited the 22-year-old driver.
On Feb.12, Captain Davisson received another report that the same vehicle was speeding. He notified patrol officers again and requested assistance from SPD’s Traffic Section. Within 24 hours, a Traffic Section officer located the driver, stopped him, and cited him for multiple serious violations.
Seattle Police Department thank Ballard community members for recognizing the issue, reporting it and remaining patient as officers worked to address the problem.
