Threats with handgun downtown, two in custody

On June 1st, at approximately 10:10 PM, West Precinct officers responded to the 1500 Block of 2nd Avenue on a report of threats where a male suspect had a gun.  The victim told officers that a man and a woman were outside of his store causing a disturbance.  The victim asked the man to leave the area and stop bothering his customers.  This upset the suspect, who threatened to kill the victim stating, “I have a burner,” and told his female accomplice, “Give me my burner!”  The female suspect held her purse open for the man, who placed his hand inside the purse.  The victim, believing that a “burner” was a gun, and that the suspect said he had access to a gun and that the gun would be used against him, retreated and called 911.  The suspects were located and arrested. An unloaded 9mm handgun was recovered from the female’s purse.  The 30 year old male and 27 year old female were booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault.
