Drive-by shooting in West Seattle

On November 12th at approximately 11:30 PM, officers from the Southwest Precinct received a call of several shots fired on the street in the 8800 block of 20th Avenue SW.  Complaintants reported hearing the shots and seeing a vehicle driving away from the scene at a high rate of speed.

Upon investigation, several spent casing were found on the planting strip and another casing was found about a block away in front of an apartment complex. Three bullet holes were located in the front portion of home that appeared to be the target and a round was recovered from a phone/utility box that is attached to the front of the home.

Photographs of the scene were taken and the spent casings and a round were recovered and placed into evidence with a request for analysis. The homeowner and other occupants indicated that they had no idea who may have targeted their home. It was determined that this was the only home to have been targeted in this incident as officers were unable to locate any other homes on the same street that sustained gunfire damage.
