There will be an invasion of police pipers and drummers as the newly formed Seattle Police Pipes and Drums host the pipe bands from Boston Police and Delta, British Columbia later this month for a concert to raise money for the SPP&D. The Seattle Police Pipes and Drums is a non-profit band, funded by donations and the hard work of its members. The Seattle Police Pipes & Drums has been in existence for about eighteen months. Although supported by the Department, it receives no financial support from the Department, and must rely on fundraisers like the concert to raise funds for uniforms and operating expenses.
The Boston band has served as a mentor to Seattle, so it is only fitting that they will come out and spend time with Seattle. The highlight of the visit will be the concert at Seattle University’s Pigott Auditorium, Sunday July 22nd at 6:00 pm. Also joining Boston is the very experienced Delta Police Pipe Band, our neighbors to the north.
