Shots Fired Into Apartment Near Roxhill Park

Eighteen rifle rounds were fired into an apartment in the Roxhill neighborhood in an early morning shooting near 27th Avenue SW and SW Cambridge Street.

Just before 12:30 am, six people inside the apartment awoke to the sound of gunfire and breaking glass.  Fortunately, no one was injured.

A witness who spoke with officers stated that just after the shooting, he saw two black males running from the scene and get into car parked in the 2900 Block of SW Cambridge Street, and leave northbound with the lights off.  The witness did not see the men carrying a weapon. Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspects or their vehicle.

No one inside the apartment could provide officers with any reason as to why someone would target their residence.  Officers recovered 18 spent rifle casing from the street in front of the apartment.  Several spent bullets and fragments were recovered from inside the apartment and submitted into evidence.  Anyone with information on this incident is asked  to contact the Seattle Police.

Gang detectives are investigating.
