Man arrested for assaulting two hospital security guards

 

Man attacks two hospital guards. This morning just shortly after 4:00 a.m., Victim #1 and #2, both uniform security guards with Virginia Mason Hospital contacted the suspect who was screaming and banging on the doors (909 University Street) asking to be let in.

The man refused their assistance and would not provide any information.  When the security guards asked the man to leave, he attacked one of the guards, throwing several punches, striking the guard in the stomach.

The suspect continued to fight and resist the guards as they tried to handcuff him.  One guard was able to apply one cuff on the suspect’s arm.  When she tried to apply the cuff to the suspect’s second arm, he grabbed hold of her flashlight and hit the guard on the back of her head.   The suspect continued to fight as he yelled, “I’m going to kill you!”

The suspect was finally handcuffed and officers were called to the scene. The suspect was transported to the West Precinct for processing.

Once at the Precinct the suspect continued his combative behavior. While being escorted to the transport van the suspect gave a back kick to the transporting officer who was standing behind him, striking the officer’s thigh.  The officer was not injured.

Other officers assisted with restraining the suspect.  The suspect also tried to bite one of the officers. When officers advised the suspect that he would be Tased, he gave up.  The suspect was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Assault- 3 counts
