Seattle Police and Fire responded to a fatality collision between a bicyclist and a semi-truck this morning at South Hanford and East Marginal Way South.
Witnesses called 911 at around 7:15 this morning informing first responders of the collision. Witnesses began giving the cyclist, a man in his 50’s, CPR at the scene until Seattle Fire arrived, but the cyclist did not survive his injuries. Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) responded to the scene and will be in charge of the active and on-going innvestigation.
The northbound lanes of East Marginal Way South are shut down as is westbound on South Hanford Street while the investigation is on going. Officers are directing traffic around the collision scene. The roads are expected to be closed for a least a couple of hours.
