Cops Arrest Trio of Suspected Robbers Near New Holly

Police arrested a trio of robbery suspects Thursday morning in South Seattle just minutes after they attacked a 68-year-old man for his wallet, cash and cellphone.

The victim was walking near 38th Avenue S. and S. Holly Street around 10:45 AM when he heard shouting behind him on the street. The man, frightened by the commotion, tried to run, but three suspects caught up to him and punched him, knocking him to the ground.

The suspects grabbed the victim’s wallet, cash and cellphone and ran off. The victim contacted a neighbor, who called police and helped translate for the victim, who only speaks Cantonese.

Through his neighbor, the victim was able to provide descriptions of the suspects to officers. Police found and arrested the three suspects just two blocks away from the scene of the robbery and booked them into the King County Jail. Detectives are now investigating whether the three suspects–two 18-year-olds and a 21-year-old–might be involved in several other recent street robberies in the South Precinct.
