Original:

Homicide and CSI detectives are on the scene of a double shooting this morning near 2nd Avenue South and South Washington.

Just before 5:30 am 911 received several calls of shots fired at that location.  Officers from the West Precinct responded and found two men lying on the ground in the 400 Block of 2nd Avenue Extension South.  One of the victims was obviously deceased and the other man had life-threatening injuries.  Officers immediately called  Seattle Fire Medics to the scene, who transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center.

Detectives responded to the scene and are currently investigating.  This remains an active and on-going investigation.  We will provide updates to this investigation when additional information becomes available.

UPDATE:

The second victim in this morning’s shooting has died from his injuries.

Homicide detectives continue to investigate. Detectives do not believe that this shooting is connected to the Chief Seattle Club or any other nearby Pioneer Square business.

UPDATE 2:

Investigators believe the victims were specifically targeted and that the shooting was not a random act. Detectives continue to actively investigate this case.
