Car/Pedestrian Collision Investigation at Rainier Avenue South and I-90

An adult female pedestrian was transported to Harborview Medical Center late Wednesday evening with life-threatening injuries after she was struck by an SUV.

On Wednesday, just after 11:00 pm, a Toyota Highlander driven by an adult male was travelling southbound on Rainier Avenue South approaching the on ramp to eastbound I-90.  At the same time, the adult female pedestrian was attempting to cross Rainier Avenue South and was struck by the vehicle.  Seattle Fire responded and transported the injured victim to HMC with life-threatening injuries.  The adult male driver of the Toyota was evaluated at the scene by officers for any signs of impairment, but none were observed.

Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) responded and began their investigation. This remains an active and on-going TCIS case.
