Detective Jeff Kappel

I’m a former Army Sergeant and also served as a police officer in Idaho before coming to the Seattle Police Department. Prior to my assignment in the Public Affairs Office, I worked as a patrol officer downtown. My patrol beats were a testament to the diversity of Seattle and included the Chinatown-International District, Pioneer Square, the Waterfront, the Alaskan Way Viaduct, the Central Business District and SoDo.

Being a police spokesman in a big city is a unique and challenging assignment. After six years of serving as one of the Department’s Public Information Officers, it remains a tremendous learning experience and one I will never forget.

I enjoy the outdoors and feel fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful areas of the country.
