Armed burglar shoots victim’s dog and flees

On October 3rd at 10:29 PM, South Precinct officers responded to a report of a burglary in the 500 block of S Sullivan Street.  Officers made contact with the female victim.  She relayed the following.  A white male, about 5’11”, with his face covered in a cloth “Spiderman” mask broke into her residence looking for her son.  The suspect looked at her and said, “Where is your son?”  The victim replied that she didn’t know where he was.  When the suspect couldn’t find her adult son in the house, he shot and killed her pit-bull terrier and left.

When officers arrived they found the dog deceased in the living room with a single gunshot wound to the head.

Officers interviewed both the victim and her son and took statements from them. The adult son told officers that the burglary may be related to an earlier disturbance, in which another man threatened him with a gun.

The suspect may be driving a dark-green pickup truck with a canopy.  He is armed and dangerous.  Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
