Southwest Precinct Burglary/Theft detectives are currently investigating a convenience store burglary that occurred in the 5400 block of Delridge Way SW on October 28th. The crime happened around 2 AM. Southwest Precinct patrol officers initially responded to the business at 1:47 AM to a report of an alarm. The officers checked the business’ doors and windows and found everything to be in proper order. When the business owner arrived at work the following morning he discovered the break-in. He reported it just after 7 AM.
The investigation revealed that the suspect(s) had tripped the alarm while disabling the security system. The suspect (s) must have waited for police to respond and depart before striking. The suspect(s) gained entry into the business by forcing the back door open. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole cash, a small safe containing additional cash and about 80 cartons of cigarettes.
