On 12-15-08 at approximately 10:00 PM, East Precinct Officers responded to a call of a pedestrian trapped under a car. Upon arrival, Officers located an Orange Cab in the parking lot of the the gas station, with a male trapped underneath. Officers and Seattle Fire fighters lifted the car while SFD personnel pulled the victim from underneath. Medics initially were unable to get a pulse and initiated CPR, however they were able to get a pulse and respirations before they left the scene. HMC advised that he was in serious condition but was likely to recover. Investigation revealed that the victim was the driver of the cab. He had pulled into the gas station to put some air in his tires, when the cab began rolling backwards. The victim got behind the cab and tried to stop it, but the cab rolled over the victim and trapped him underneath.
