Homicide, shooting in Central District

On January 4th at 12:27 a.m. officers responded to 911 calls of shots fired at a nightclub in the 1300 block of East Madison Street. Officers arrived on scene in under a minute and discovered three gunshot victims, all males apparently in their 20’s. SFD Medics were summoned immediately and transported all three victims to Harborview Medical Center. One victim died after arriving at Harborview. A second victim is being treated for life-threatening injuries; the third victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released from the hospital. Preliminary investigation indicates there was a band playing and a crowd of patrons watching the band. A dispute erupted and shots were fired. It is unknown if any of the victims were targeted. After officers’ arrival on scene, two men were detained and subsequently interviewed by Homicide Detectives. One of those initially detained, a 25-year-old male suspect, has been booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault (felony assault). The other subject, a witness, was interviewed and released. At least one male suspect is still at large. Homicide and Gang Unit Detectives continue to actively investigate this incident.
