On 1/9/09 at approximately 2:00 AM North Precinct Officers responded to a call of shots being fired in the 5500 block of University Way NE. When they arrived they learned that patrons of a bar had exchanged shots in front of the location and in the alley behind it. Witnesses could only provide a vague description of one of the shooters. During the investigation, officers located four .40 caliber shell casings and one spent bullet adjacent to the front of the bar. Officers later, during a sweep for evidence, located a handgun stashed on top of a vehicle tire. (This vehicle was parked directly in front of the bar.) No suspects or victims were located.
