On October 8th at around 7:40 a.m., West Precinct patrol officers responded to a business/condominium complex in the 600 block of 5th Avenue S regarding a suspect who was trespassing in the secure parking garage located there. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival, but officers located him nearby in the 1200 block of Jackson. The 25-year-old male suspect was arrested and booked into King County Jail for Criminal Trespass. He has a history of burglary in the downtown area.
At around 8:16 a.m., West Precinct patrol officers responded to a report of a burglar sighting in the 2200 block of 2nd Avenue. The complainant, a security guard for a Belltown apartment building, pointed out the suspect to officers. The security guard advised them that the suspect had been previously captured on surveillance committing a burglary and that he had evaded capture. The officers placed the 29-year-old male suspect under arrest. Officers coordinated with West Precinct Burglary detectives and booked the suspect into King County Jail for misdemeanor warrants. The burglary investigation remains ongoing and will be forwarded to prosecutors upon completion.
