Yet another disturbance at bar closing in the 2200 blk of Western

On 1/3/2010 at about 1:30 a.m., officers were monitoring bar closing outside a night Club in the 2200 block of Western Ave.  A male had been kicked out of the club for fighting with another male, and officers saw him being escorted away by several friends.

After repeated attempts by the suspect to break free from his friends, to get back towards the club, they got him into a vehicle and drove away.

At about 2:00 a.m., the male, who appeared to be very intoxicated, showed back up in the area of the club and was trying to walk back towards the area of the front door.  An officer noted that he appeared to still be agitated, so he stopped him from moving that way, in order to prevent a further disturbance.

The male became argumentative with the officer and began swinging his arms about at the officer, almost striking the officer several times.  The officer put out his hand, and moved the male back to create some distance, and in response, the suspect struck the officer on the hand.

When Officers attempted to place him under arrest, the suspect put up a struggle and yelled out, “This is why cops are getting shot!”

The suspect was booked into King County Jail for Assault and Resisting Arrest.
