SPD earns 3rd CALEA Accreditation

Below is a message that Interim Chief Diaz sent to all Seattle Police Department employees:

The Seattle Police Department received its 3rd accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) on March 27, 2010 in Dallas, Texas. Accreditation is an important investment and undertaking every law enforcement agency wants to achieve. Only six of the 25 largest cities in the nation have accredited law enforcement agencies, which is an accomplishment we should all be proud of. Receiving this accreditation continues to demonstrate your professional achievements, and upholds the highest standards of law enforcement practices in training, policies and procedures and police services for the people of Seattle.

Congratulations to all of you, with a special recognition to AC Dick Reed and the Accreditation Team (l-r):  Det. Kim Anderson, Det. Carrie McNally and Sgt. Ross Bartley.
