Harassment, eluding, stolen gun incident in South Seattle

On April 22nd, at approximately 10:10 PM, South Precinct officers responded to the 10000 Block of Beacon Avenue South on a report of harassment.  The 18 year old male  victim told officers that a 21 year male had posted threats to the victim on Facebook and was inquiring as to the victim’s whereabouts.  The victim stated that he knew the suspect carries a handgun.  At about 10:10 PM, the suspect pulled in front of the victim’s residence and got out.  The victim called 911 as the suspect fled in a red Honda.  As officers were interviewing the victim, another officer spotted the suspect vehicle down the street.  The officer attempted to stop the vehicle by activating his emergency equipment.  The Honda sped off, attempting to elude the officer.  The suspect then crashed into some blackberry bushes near the intersection of Beacon Avenue South and South Fletcher Street and fled on foot into the woods.  A K9 handler and his dog responded and conducted a short track, where the suspect was found hiding.  He was taken into custody.  Officers later searched the suspect vehicle and located a stolen Glock 9mm handgun in the center console.  The 21 year old suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Harassment, Investigation of Eluding, and Investigation of VUFA (Stolen Firearm).  Detectives will conduct the follow up investigation.
