Robbery/Stabbing on Capitol Hill, suspect in custody

On June 1st at approximately 4:32 p.m. officers responded to a 911 call of a disturbance between two males near 12th Avenue and Howell Street.  Preliminary investigation indicates that the 24-year-old male suspect robbed the 49-year-old male victim at knifepoint near 12th Avenue and Howell Street.  The suspect then fled on foot with the victim’s jacket and money.

A short time later the suspect got into a physical altercation with a second victim outside Cal Anderson Park (11th Avenue and East Olive Way).  The second victim, also a 49-year-old male, was stabbed in the chest by the suspect.  SFD medics responded to the scene and transported the stabbing victim to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Responding officers located the suspect walking near Cal Anderson Park.  The suspect was detained and positively identified by both victims and also by witnesses.  Officers recovered a knife off the suspect believed to be the one used in the stabbing.

The suspect was placed under arrest and will be booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery and Investigation of Assault.
