On November 24th, at approximately 2:11 am, West Precinct officers responded to the 500 Block of Maynard Avenue South for a call of a fight involving at least ten people. It was reported that someone in the fight had a gun. The call continued to evolve as officers responded to include one male armed with a club or a bat. Officers arrived and located a victim with a significant wound to his temple. A suspect description was broadcast and officers located the suspect hiding behind a car in a nearby alley. He was taken into custody without incident.
A second victim was located and several witnesses positively identified the suspect. The victims were transported to Harborview Medical Center. The first victim, with the injury to his temple, has life-threatening injuries. The suspect was also transported to HMC for a possible broken thumb he sustained during the fight. Once released from the hospital, the 25 year old suspect will be booked into the King County Jail for two counts of Investigation of Assault. Detectives from the Homicide and Assault Unit will conduct the follow up investigation.
