Shooting in Pioneer Square

On December 24th at approximately 2:04 a.m. officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue South.  Upon arrival officers located an adult male victim with a through and through gunshot wound to his foot.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim and his girlfriend had run into her ex-boyfriend at a club.  Tempers flared and continued after they all left the club.  In a nearby parking lot the ex-boyfriend (the suspect) confronted the current boyfriend (the victim) and pointed a black handgun at his chest while threatening him.  The suspect continued to threaten the victim and eventually took aim at the victim’s foot and fired one round, striking the victim in the foot.  The suspect then fled on foot.  Officers conducted an area check however, the suspect remains at large.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of his non-life-threatening injury.

This remains an active and on-going investigation.
