On 3/23/12, at approximately 8:10 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of 23rd and S. Jackson St to a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision. Officers arrived and found an 85-year-old female pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. She was alert and conscious. Seattle Fire Personnel responded and treated the victim on scene. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center for none life threatening injuries.
The 58-year-old female driver was apparently making a left (southbound) turn onto 23 Av S, when she struck the pedestrian who was walking in the crosswalk from west to east across 23 Av S at S Jackson Street. A Drug Recognition Expert responded and screened the driver for signs of impairment. None were found. Traffic Collision Investigators responded and processed the scene. The investigation continues.
