Shots were fired early this morning near the Pike Place Market and a woman was struck in the arm as she was walking with friends near 1st and Pike.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired around 12:15 this morning in the area of 2nd and Pike. Witnesses reported seeing two adult males arguing and running westbound on Pike towards 1st Avenue. Witnesses reported seeing one, if not both of the suspects, shooting handguns possibly toward each other. One of the shots fired struck a woman who was walking with her friends near the corner of 1st and Pike. The woman, in her twenties, was struck in the arm. Seattle Fire responded and transported her to Harborview. The injury does not appear to be life-threatening.
One suspect was arrested within minutes of the call, and a gun was recovered. A second suspect was located and arrested near 2nd and Union. A second weapon was located as well. The suspects were transported to police headquarters where they are being interviewed by Gang Unit detectives.
