A 61-year-old man is in custody following an incident in Lake City last night where a 38-year-old man was stabbed several times in the arm. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Just before 9:00 pm, North Precinct officers responded to a 911 call of a stabbing in the 11700 Block of Daniel Place NE. The call stated that the location was a park, and that a transient male had stabbed another man multiple times in the arm. As officers were arriving, updates came into the 911 center that the victim was now near 117th Avenue NE and Lake City Way NE. Officers located the victim near a trail leading to a ravine, and three other men were attending to the victim’s injuries.
As officers were contacting the victim and calling for Seattle Fire a man the victim identified as the suspect approached them on the trail. The suspect was immediately taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene by SFD, and then transported to Harborview Medical Center.
It appears that the suspect and the victim had a dispute over an alledged stolen tent in the park. The suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault. Detectives will handle the follow up investigation.
