An armed man remains at large after robbing an electronics store this evening.
At approximately 6:44 p.m. officers responded to the 8400 block of Rainier Avenue South for the report of an armed robbery of a business. Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect entered an electronics store and attempted to sell the employees two computers. When the employees refused to buy them the suspect pulled out a chrome handgun, chambered a round and demanded money and cell phones. The victims provided both. The suspect took the cash and cell phones and left out the front door, leaving the two computers behind at the business.
Although nobody was injured during the robbery, the employees were concerned the suspect was still outside and waited about 15 minutes prior to calling 911. Responding officers processed the scene, collecting fingerprints and other evidence. Officers conducted an area search for the suspect however, he remains at large.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5’10” tall and wearing a red sweatshirt.
This remains an active and on-going investigation.
