Two Arrested, Handgun Recovered Early this Morning in Greenwood

A man is in  jail on an outstanding burglary warrant and a woman is being processed for driving while under the influence following a disturbance call in Greenwood early this morning.  A loaded gun was also recovered from the car.

At about 4:20 this morning,  several North Precinct officers were focusing their patrol activities in the Greenwood area in response to an increase in burglaries.  The officers responded to a call of a disturbance inside a car between its occupants in the 800 Block of NW 85th Street.  The officers arrived quickly and located four people inside the car.

The 18-year-old male passenger had an outstanding burglary warrant and a revolver with the serial number defaced was located next to him on the floorboard. He was later booked into jail for those charges.

The adult female driver was processed for DUI.  Two of the other passengers were listed in a previous police report as possible suspects in the same burglary case in which the warrant had been issued.

The incident was documented and  the passengers were interviewed and released from the scene.  The car was impounded and the driver was released from the precinct after she had been processed for DUI. This remains an active investigation.
