Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested Yesterday in North Seattle

Two Robbery Unit detectives, assigned to the Safe Streets Task Force, arrested a 26-year-old man wanted for a bank robbery that occurred last week in the Crown Hill neighborhood.

On February 10th, at around 1:30 pm, a man entered the Washington Federal Savings Bank in the 8700 Block of Holman Road NW.  He presented a note and displayed a handgun in his waistband.  After robbing the bank, the suspect fled.  Officers arrived and began their investigation.  Images of the suspect from bank surveillance cameras were distributed and an officer tenatively identified a possible suspect.  That individual  was positively identified as the correct suspect by witnesses.  Detectives issued a wanted bulletin for the suspect.

Yesterday morning detectives received a tip that the suspect was staying in a motel in the 11700 Block of Aurora Avenue North.  Detectives located and arrested the suspect without incident and interviewed him in the Robbery office.  Following the interview he was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.  The Task Force will continue to investigate this case.
