Officers arrested a man today after he stabbed someone waiting for lunch.
At 11:50 a.m. officers were dispatched to investigate a stabbing at the Union Gospel Mission, 318 2 Ave. South. As the suspect and victim stood in line today waiting to get lunch the two began to argue about their respective spots in line. The suspect eventually pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the stomach.
The suspect fled the building but was detained by witnesses outside of the Union Gospel Mission. Officers quickly arrived and took the suspect into custody.
Seattle Fire Department Medics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Officers were able to recover the knife and have entered it into evidence.
The Suspect, a 55-year-old man, has been booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
