A man was arrested last night in South Seattle for robbery.
On 5/17/14, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded to Rainier Av S and S. Brandon St to a Robbery.
The victim stated that she came out to her car after closing her restaurant only to find the suspect inside her vehicle rummaging through items she had left on the seat. She confronted the suspect, who had now grabbed her purse and a laptop. The victim grabbed onto the straps of both items and wouldn’t let go.
The suspect pulled her up the block to where his SUV was parked, got the items from the victim, and climbed in the driver’s seat. The victim screamed for help and several people were now around the SUV.
A female passenger was noticed inside. The suspect pulled away and left southbound on Rainier Av S. The victim gave a detailed description of the suspect and it matched the owner description (computer check) associated with the vehicle registration.
Officers responded to the suspect address and found both the suspect and his passenger. The victim ID’d both parties. The suspect was arrested and booked into King County Jail. Neither of the stolen items were recovered. The female passenger stated the suspect dropped her off at his home then left for a few minutes before coming back.
