Two young suspects attacked a pregnant woman walking through Cowen Park in the Roosevelt neighborhood about 11:30 p.m. Monday night.
The victim, who is eight months pregnant, reported she was walking back to a friend’s home when two women, both in their late teens to early 20s, approached the victim from behind and began hitting her. The attackers pulled the victim’s shirt over her head and punched her in the face.
Witnesses driving past the park saw the attack and stopped to help the victim. They heard a man nearby warn ‘you might not want to do that.’ However, the attacking youths and the man all fled when the witnesses approached.
The victim told officers nothing was taken from her in the attack, which left her with a knot on her forehead and swelling under her eyes. Medics treated her at the scene. She later went on her own to Northwest Hospital.
Both female attackers were described as being about 5-foot-7. One was wearing a pink hoodie and jeans and the other wore a light colored T-shirt and jeans. The male suspect was described as 5-foot-7, wearing a blue baseball cap, blue T-shirt and blue shorts.
Police searched the area but could not locate the suspects. If you have any information about this incident, please call police at (206) 625-5011.
