Officers Arrest Armed Felon, Recover Two Guns on Beacon Hill

Officers arrested an armed felon and seized two guns Wednesday in a wooded area on Beacon Hill.

While working with Department of Corrections (DOC) officers, police were searching the woods on the west side of Beacon Hill—sometimes colloquially referred to as “the jungle”—looking for DOC clients. Officers caught up to the suspect, recovered the discarded pistol, and found a second gun in some bushes nearby. When police checked the serial numbers on the guns, they discovered one of them had been reported stolen in Tacoma.

Police arrested the suspect—who is a convicted felon, prohibited from carrying any firearm—on a weapons violations and booked him into the King County Jail.
