A robber opened fire on a man in a Mount Baker park Thursday night after relieving him of two pounds of pot and marijuana-infused brownies.
Officers responded to calls of shots fired just after 8 PM in the 1400 block of Martin Luther King Way S., where the 38-year-old victim told police his mother had driven him to Sam Smith Park so he could sell the pot and brownies.
The victim met the suspect inside the park, where the suspect asked the victim to walk with him to a darker, more secluded area. The two men strolled through the park until the suspect pulled out a silver handgun and demanded the victim’s marijuana. After grabbing the victim’s pot, the suspect fired two shots toward the victim, who ran back to his mother’s car, sped away, and called 911.
Officers searched the park and were able to find 10 shell casings, as well as brownies, scattered on the ground.
The victim described the suspect as a mid-20’s black male with a thin build and scruffy facial hair.
