Police arrested a 46-year-old man and recovered a knife following a stabbing Saturday afternoon in the Haller Lake neighborhood.
Officer Daniel Spiewak was in the 11700 block of Aurora Ave North investigating another 911 call around 3PM when a man ran up to him saying someone had just been stabbed nearby. Officer Spiewak found the 53-year-old victim, who had sustained two large gashes on his forearm. Officer Spiewak provided the man with medical treatment while he worked to get a description of the suspect, which he broadcast to other officers. Police searched the neighborhood for the suspect, but weren’t able to find him. Medics transported the victim to Harborview with non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim of the stabbing was released from the hospital that night, and returned to the scene of the stabbing around 7PM. The victim spotted the suspect walking through the area, and called police.
Officers Ryan Kennard and Ryan Beck found the 46-year-old suspect, took him into custody, and found he was still carrying a knife caked in dried blood.
Police booked the suspect into King County Jail on investigation of assault.
