Three females were arrested after firing shots during a street robbery near Pioneer Square early Thursday morning.
Officers responded to the area of Yesler Way and Post Avenue around 1:45 AM after multiple witnesses called in a disturbance with shots fired.
Police located three females getting into a cab nearby matching the description of people involved in the disturbance. The females were detained but the witness was unable to positively identify them.
While searching for shell casings in Pioneer Square Park, the robbery victim approached officers and told them he had been robbed and shot at. He said it started when he accidentally bumped into a male and an argument ensued where he was thrown to the ground. He sprayed the man with pepper spray also spraying three females involved. One of the females pulled out a gun and fired several rounds at him, fortunately missing him. The females he described matched the description of the three previously stopped in the cab.
Officers located the cab driver from earlier at a nearby store where they were looking for security footage of the incident. The cab driver told officers he had dropped the females off on Capitol Hill.
The three females were located near where the cab driver had dropped them off. They were detained and the victim of the robbery positively identified them as the suspects who robbed and shot at him.
All three suspects were arrested. The 19-year-old and 23-year-old suspects were booked into King County Jail for robbery and the 32-year-old suspect was booked for felony assault and robbery.
