Two men arrested early this morning for a robbery on Capitol Hill are being investigated for ties to other recent crimes after police found they were carrying a gun, a ski mask and gloves.
The two suspects approached a man on the street near Boylston Avenue and East Pike Street around 1:15 AM and asked him for a bottle of liquor he’d just purchased at a nearby store.
The victim declined so the men attacked him, grabbed the bottle of liquor and tried to steal the man’s wallet. When one of the suspects lifted his shirt, displaying a handgun in his waistband, the victim took off running.
East Precinct Anti-Crime Team officers found the suspects a few blocks away from the scene of the robbery and took them into custody after a brief foot chase.
Police found the men were carrying a gun, mask and gloves, and are now investigating whether the suspects may be tied to any other recent crimes in the area.
Officers booked the suspects-ages 27 and 29- into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
