Detectives are investigating after two people arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds early Saturday morning.
Officers responded to the 2000 block of Rainier Avenue South at 2:40 a.m. Saturday for reports of shots fired. Officers searching the area found a pool of blood and a single shell casing in the parking lot of a nearby restaurant.
Officers were later advised by radio that two gunshot victims were dropped off at Harborview Medical Center. The two victims both had gunshot wounds to their legs. Gang Unit detectives interviewed the victims who said there had been a fight at the restaurant and as they were preparing to leave they were both shot.
Officers at the shooting scene spotted a car leaving the area that witnesses reported may be related to the call. Officers were able to stop the vehicle and arrested the driver for a warrant. Officers impounded the vehicle pending a search warrant to recover a handgun that was in plain view in the vehicle.
