Officers were called to the 100 block of 19th Avenue East on Wednesday morning to check on a man, who was seen passed out in the driver’s seat of a car. Police found him, and quickly noticed the wires spilling from the car’s mangled ignition column and the butter knife on the man’s lap.
Seattle Fire Department EMTs roused the 22-year-old man and asked him if he needed medical assistance. He declined.
Police found the man had a small amount of methamphetamine in his possession and discovered he was wanted for a felony theft warrant.
He was also carrying a collection of about 10 drivers licenses and debit and credit cards, which did not belong to him. Police also recovered a laptop, which appeared to have been stolen from a medical facility in the area. The car was also reported stolen.
Officers booked the man into the King County Jail for his warrant and for investigation of possession of stolen property and identity theft.
